If you are looking for an off the beaten path town to explore, then check out Montisi which is about a 20 minute drive from the B&B through the beautiful rolling hills of Tuscany. It is a little bit hidden and thus you would never know it is there. This gem of a town is located on the way to Pienza, Montepulciano, and Montalcino and believe it or not, has a music venue and a few restaurants but more importantly, it is home to a fantastic wine & tapas bar called Portofranco.
The vineria is not only a wine bar but a wine shop where you can find wine from all over Italy. The owner, Ilaria is very welcoming and knows her wines well. Just ask for a recommendation based on the style or taste you are looking for, and her suggestions always come out on top. Order some tapas and enjoy the ambiance. This place is peaceful, welcoming, and always hits the spot at the end of the day.
