Fattoria Pulcino in Montepulciano is a family-owned brand since the 1500s and is now managed and cared for by two sisters. The fattoria (farm) is set just outside the walls of Montepulciano and from their restaurant you have beautiful views of the walled village. I cannot say enough good things about this place. It was one of the first places we tried when we first moved to Italy and it is still one of our favorites due to the hospitality and quality of their products. The sisters are warm and inviting, everything is organic and made from scratch, and their Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is one of the best in the area.
They make their own pecorino cheese, olive oil, cured meats, pasta (pici is the local pasta served), sauces, honey, and of course the wine. You can also buy almost anything you taste in their shop at the front of the restaurant. They also offer a tour of their wine cellars below or you can explore at your own leisure.
When you make a reservation for a tasting and lunch, mention that you are guests of Jeff & Ali and they will certainly make you feel at home.
They do have some wine shops in the town of Montepulciano so do not confuse those shops for this restaurant on Google Maps. The Fattoria & Restaurant is located just on the outskirts of town.
